Dr. Suess' Birthday

Students in Mrs. Martinez and Ms. Bishop’s classes at South Elementary have been celebrating two weeks of Dr. Seuss fun with Mrs. Estrada! The fun began with The Lorax, where students learned the importance of caring for our world with kindness and respect. They had a blast getting creative by building colorful Truffula Trees and even making the Lorax himself! They wrapped up their Seuss-tastic celebration with Green Eggs and Ham, where students explored the idea of being flexible and trying new things. You never know what you might like until you try it! Students especially loved tasting a special treat: “green eggs” made from pudding, green food coloring, and a vanilla wafer. Throughout these two weeks, students enjoyed the rhythm and repetition that make Dr. Seuss' stories and birthday so memorable. Activities targeted phonological awareness, vocabulary, and grammar, all while keeping learning fun and engaging. It was a wonderful two weeks full of creativity, laughter, and learning in Seuss style!
