Fourteen LISD educators were awarded $ 5,200 in LIFE Grants today. LIFE donates money to LISD teachers to make their out-of-the-box ideas come to fruition. Five educators from South received grants. Lacey Guzman, Natalie Lorenz, Jessica Vergara, Erin Wiemers, Shelby Williams, and Instructional Coach Amy Kenley will all receive Advanced Number Line Clocks for their classrooms. These clocks teach time and enable students to understand that a clock is a circular number line. LIFE teacher grants are awarded once a year, and LIFE operates solely on donations and fundraisers. If you would like to help out students and teachers, you can make a LIFE donation at City Bank or Hockley County School Employees Credit Union. Thank you to Lillian Northcutt for bringing the cheerleaders and to Mr. John Barry for bringing the drumline to make these grants a "big deal." It was fun for deserving educators to reach their goals! And thank you to the LIFE Foundation for promoting LISD student learning! You're in the right place!
